Plein Air: Borden Lake

Here’s a really quick post:

I had a chance to paint at Borden Lake, about 4 miles out from Weimar, TX on Mother’s Day weekend. I found this view on the far end of the parking area and over the next three hours, collected a fair amount of chiggers.  Within two days, my entire torso (in the places don’t speak of) was covered in welps that itched like fire.  The scene was great!  I’ll never paint there in springtime again.

Oh, this is named after the son of the man that founded Borden Ice Cream in case you were wondering about the name “Borden”.
